TaDa! We Launched a New Site!

In case you hadn't heard, Shopzilla, Inc. recently added a new site to the family, and here it is...TaDa!  TaDa is a group deals website offering great deals from online retailers.

How did this all come about?

TaDa emerged from our desire to connect the many great retailers we work with to the people who love the products they sell.

The trick was figuring out how to get those "are-you-kidding-me-that's-all-it-costs" prices, and spread the wealth as far as possible. Then we realized those two things can work together: the more people who buy, the better the price can be.

TaDa prices are great because we work to achieve the volume that the retailer needs to make a lower price a win for everyone. We scour our retails partners' websites to find cool stuff, and then we work with those retail partners to find an even cooler price to offer you.  Once we think we got it, we serve it up for the day's TaDa.  The rest is up to you and fellow shoppers to make that sale- share the sale and everyone wins!

How Many Offers Does it Take? 64-bits Worth!

Hey Publishers,

As our offer inventory continues to grow, so do the unique identifiers we assign to each product and offer. 

Users of our Catalog API and FTP Data Feed should be sure that their processes will be able to handle a 64-bit signed integer datatype as we approach unique identifier 2147483648. This will apply to both our productID ("PID") and offerID ("OID") integers.

Why 2147483648? 

The number 2,147,483,647 is the maximum value for a 32-bit signed integer. For more on the wonderful world of prime numbers, see what Wikipedia has to say!

Publisher Portal Facelift?

Is that a new logo?  Wasn't the Publisher Portal green?!

Wondering whether we dropped the green in favor of showing support for the NY Mets, in the hopes of turning their bad luck? Perhaps someone on the Shopzilla Publisher Team can't get over the fact that they've been unable to replace their favorite blue & orange Saucony Jazz for at least a decade.  Or, maybe your guess is that a certain fan within our engineering team took it upon themselves to represent Syracuse Orange via the Publisher Portal...

Those would all be logical assumptions, but we're actually proud to announce that we've updated our logo and color palette in line with the recent Shopzilla, Inc. redesign. As many of you know, Shopzilla, Inc. manages a growing family of properties including Shopzilla, Bizrate, Beso and the Shopzilla Publisher Program. We recently updated our familiar Shopzilla, Inc. flaming cart logo, giving it a slightly more modern feel. Marking the Shopzilla Publisher Program's official move from beta, we are in the process of also updating our Publisher Portal branding.

What's that I see? A Bizrate redesign?

We're excited to announce to our publishers that Bizrate^® has rolled out a redesign, and we think you'll agree that it's oh-so-sweet. The new Bizrate brand launched today with a sleek new home page, piping hot search results pages, fresh product pages, and the tagline: search. compare. conquer.

This redesign represents our company's commitment to providing the best and easiest-to-use online shopping experience anywhere.  But what does this mean for publishers? It means you can be confident that when you send your users to Bizrate, they'll be able to quickly discover cool products at prices that can't be beaten.

To be clear, the only thing that has changed as it relates to the Shopzilla Publisher Program is the look and feel of Bizrate. We'll eventually be updating the branding name and logo on all of our ad units to reflect the new branding, but your earnings are not impacted by this release. Though, we think the site is so awesome, shoppers may just stick around and buy a few more things!
