How the Shopzilla Publisher Program Works
How do Publishers make money?
In order to help Publishers understand how our program works, we have illustrated the steps involved in generating earnings.
1. You place Shopzilla Publisher Program banners or links on your website. A visitor comes to your website, sees a product they would like to compare prices on.
2. They click on one of the Shopzilla Publisher Program banners or links (*on your Portal report, this represents a ‘click’). This takes them to BizRate, our sister website, where they see a list of relevant products and prices.
3. Once they decide which product suits them best, they click on a link that takes them through to the website of the Merchant selling that product.
4. The Merchant pays Shopzilla for valid, CPC-monetized leads and celebrates the sale of a product from the quality traffic you, the Publisher, sent to their website.
5. Shopzilla shares the revenue generated from this quality traffic with you, the Publisher.* Now YOU celebrate!
Should you have any questions, visit our Frequently Asked Questions section, or, post a comment since another Publisher may be wondering something similar. The Shopzilla Publisher Team will be sure to reply.
* All publisher earnings are subject to validation and adjustments. Portal reported earnings should only be considered as an estimate. Publishers should consult the Shopzilla, Inc. Publisher Program Terms & Conditions for more information.

America: The Shopzilla Publisher Program is only able to syndicate shopping content from the consumer websites we maintain, which are currently limited to the United States, United Kingdom, Germany & France. It's unfortunate that we don't currently have a presence in more countries, but maybe someday!

Yana: We don't specify a commission rate, we instead encourage publishers to track their average CPC. For more details, check out our FAQs:

What is the reason why Shopzilla set up the section International to UK and not to Latin America?.
In Latin America, which it is about 33 countries and more than 300 million consumers, the most with Visa, master card and Amex to purchase those goods that your system offers from hundreds of merchandisers. Shopzilla is missing the huge business picture for Spanish Americans.

i have emailed shopzill 4 times in the last week and still no response. I am using xml api and can see what clicks are clicking through to the merchant on my internal site stats and still im not receiving any cpc commission. On my site you search and it returns a list of options then user clicks straight through to merchant which i can see i have clicks through to the merchant. Yet, i am receiving no commission.
Still awaiting an answer from shopzilla. Also on the xml api getting errors, name not included and therefore it doesnt import anything

Hey Kate,
Sorry we missed your comment here! Thursday night we did experience some problems with the API services, but thankfully our engineering team were able to correct the issue.
We try really hard to keep up with the blog comments, but should you have performance issues in the future, please don't hesitate to also send us an email: https://publisher.shopzilla.com/pp/contact.xhtml
As to why digital cameras were appearing, that is our default content. When certain services are experiencing issue, we populate some of the related content with generic content to avoid assets appearing blank for your users. Several publishers have shared their thoughts on this- some like it, some don't - so we are definitely open to suggestions. Here is a blog post touching on this: http://shopzillapublisherprogram.typepad.com/blog/2008/09/why-are-my-ads.html
Send us an email and let us know what you think?
Thanks for your patience,
Shopzilla Publisher Team

Is anyone else experiencing issues with the API regarding categories? Today for example;
http://www.shopzilla.com/ab-waist-machines/8638/products
http://tinymassive.com/products?category_id=8638
As you can see, we are displaying cameras instead of ab and waist machines.
Can anyone throw some light on why this is happening?
Thanks -

English-Lessons: The only time the Shopzilla Publisher Program earns money is when a merchant pays us for clicks to their site. That money is what we can then pay out to our Publishers. Any other navigation around BizRate will not result in earnings for the Publisher.
If you would like to talk a little more about your particular concerns, please email me directly at tdrake@shopzilla.com. We can see if there are some better merchants or landing pages that you could link to.

Thanks for the clarification. Looking at the Bizrate landing page, I see that there are text ads on that page. Does the publisher get a cut of earnings if the user clicks on one of those instead of through to the product at a merchant site? I ask becuase the products in my niches tend to be available only at one store, with a big red unhappy face marking it... so I can see why users are not likely to clickthrough from BizRate to the merchant. They are clicking my ads to get to BizRate, but then they stop there.
